Chinese New Year 2026 falls on February 17, 2026 (Year of the Horse). Chinese New Year 2027 is February 6, 2027 (Year of the Goat). CNY begins on the first day of the first lunar month.
Chinese New Year, Lantern Festival, Qingming (Tomb Sweeping Day), Dragon Boat Festival, Qixi (Chinese Valentine's Day), Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival), Double Ninth Festival, and Winter Solstice.
In mainland China, the statutory public holidays include Chinese New Year (7 days), Qingming (1 day), Dragon Boat Festival (1 day), and Mid-Autumn Festival (1 day). Lantern Festival, Qixi, and Double Ninth are cultural holidays but not statutory days off.
Chinese festivals follow the lunisolar calendar, so their Gregorian dates shift every year. Chinese New Year falls between January 21 and February 20. Mid-Autumn is always the 15th of the 8th lunar month — the night of the full moon.
